Classes - Kestrels

Welcome to Kestrel class. We are a class of Year 2 children and our teacher is called Mrs Slinger. We have enjoyed learning about lots of exciting things so far this year.

Our class topic this term has been Time Detectives, looking at Ancient Egypt in particular.

We had a go at being archaeologists, digging in the sand for very old objects, then cleaning up our finds and recording them. We had a guess at what our object might have been used for.	We had an exciting visit from an Egyptologist from Liverpool University who showed us some real Egyptian artefacts, which we were able to handle and sketch.

We have also been very busy making our own clay models of real Egyptian artefacts in Art and Science to put in our class museum. We then wrote instructions in Literacy about how we made them.

In PE we have been learning to play games like rounders, tennis and football, which has been a lot of fun. We even made up our own games using different equipment, and taught it to the rest of the class.
