Monday

LO: I can create a vocabulary bank to describe a character.

 

Choose one on the characters from the document below. How could we describe it? What does it look like? What do you think it's personality is like? Label the picture of the character using adjectives (describing words) and noun phrases. 

E.g. The dinosaur - green, big, short arms, short legs etc.

A pronoun is a word we use instead of a noun.

Choose your favourite character from any story. Write some sentences to describe them using pronouns. 

Wednesday

LO: I can describe a character using adjectives and pronouns.

 

Can you remember what a pronoun is? It is a word we use instead of a noun e.g. he, she, they. it etc.

 

Look at the sentences below. Which words could we replace with pronouns? What pronoun could we use? 

Tom went upstairs to his bedroom. Tom opened his door and Tom sat on his bed.

The toys have been taken from the garden! Today you are going to create a missing poster for the toy you labelled with adjectives and noun phrases on Monday. In your sentences - try to use adjectives and noun phrases.

E.g. The dinosaur is big and green. It has short arms. It has short legs. The dinosaur has a spiky back.

 

Thursday

On Thursday's we do not have an English lesson because we have an extra foundation subject lesson that day.

Here are some continuous provision activities for you to complete today (don't have to complete them all).

 

* Label another character using adjectives and noun phrases from the document on Monday.

* Write some sentences about a character using adjectives and pronouns.

* Documents attached below to have a go at.

Friday

What do you imagine the space creature to look like? What colour is it? How many arms and legs does it have? Are they short or long?

 

Draw a picture of how you imagine the space creature to look like. Label it using adjectives and noun phrases.

E.g. green, slimy, two long arms, four long legs etc.
