Monday

LO: I can describe a character using adjectives and pronouns.

Today you are going to use your vocabulary bank from the previous lesson to describe the alien. Try to use adjectives and pronouns in your sentences.

E.g. The alien is green. It has two long arms. It has four short legs. The alien is slimy. It has 3 eyes.

Tuesday

LO: I can create a vocabulary bank to describe a setting.

Imagine that you are one of the toys that has bee left outside in the garden at night time. You could lie on the floor and turn the lights off. Imagine that it is very dark and you can feel the cold on your skin. When you look up at the sky, you can see bright stars and the white moon in the dark sky.

What can you see? How do you feel? What can you hear?

Fill in the senses grid with adjectives and noun phrases to describe what the toys can see, hear and how they feel.

E.g. see - black sky, grey clouds, bright stars, white moon

hear - dogs barking, wind

feel - scared, nervous

etc.

Wednesday

LO: I can write a setting description using capital letters, full stops and adjectives.

Today you are going to be describing the setting when the toys were left outside, using the senses grid you created yesterday. You need to talk about what the toys could see, hear and how they felt.

Think first of all about what the toys could see e.g. sky, moon, stars. How could we describe them? E.g. The sky was dark. The moon was shining. Then think about what they could hear and how they felt.

Remember to use capital letters, full stops and adjectives in your sentences.

E.g. It was a cold night. The sky was dark. The stars were twinkling. The wind was blowing through the trees. The toys felt nervous.

Thursday

On Thursday's we do not have an English lesson because we have an extra foundation subject lesson that day.

Here are some continuous provision activities for you to complete today (don't have to complete them all).

* Create another alien, completely different from the one you created last week and label it using adjectives and noun phrases.

* Write some sentences about the alien using adjectives and pronouns.

* Documents attached below to have a go at.

Friday

LO: I can write a setting description using capital letters, full stops and adjectives.

Read your favourite story. What is the setting? If you were in the setting what do you think you could see? What do you think you could hear? Would you be able to smell anything? Would you be able to feel anything?

Write a setting description for the setting in your story. Start with what you can see - how could you describe it? Then include what can you can hear, smell and feel.
