Maths

This week in maths you are going to learn about position and direction.

Can you point to the left? Can you point to the right?

Practise with the children doing different turns (clockwise) - full turn, half turn, quarter turn and three quarter turn.

Practise this with objects e.g. a toy doll.

Complete the worksheet by colouring in the shape that shows how it would look once turned. Use objects to help you do the turns if you need to. If you don't have a printer, draw the answers as shown below. Answers are attached.

History

Today you are going to use your senses to describe the seaside.

At the seaside, what can you see? What can you hear? What can you taste? What can you smell? What can you feel?

Create a list, try to create noun phrases (adjective describing the noun) e.g. blue sea, soft sand, yummy ice cream.

Now you are going to write sentence using adjectives and 'and'. Write two sentences for each of the senses to describe the seaside.

E.g. At the seaside I can see the blue sea and yellow sand. I can see _ and _.

At the seaside I can hear _ and _. I can hear _ and _.
