Maths- Counting in twos

Today and tomorow's challenge will be counting in twos. Using the cards from Monday's activity, only have facing up, all the even numbers. Ask your child, are these odd or even?

Then ask them to say these numbers out aloud... 0,2,4,6,8,10  or 0,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20. Repeat. Let them say the numbers in different voices, the Queen's voice, a baby voice, a ghosty voice etc . We do this quiet often in Reception.

Turn all the numbers face up again and see if they can count in twos now,  with all the numbers faced up.

Can you explain, that what they are doing is counting in twos. Say a number, miss a number, say a number etc.

Practise counting in twos with them and the challenge would be to see if they can count in twos from memory.
