In the story, we see some of the characters speech in speech bubbles (examples attached). When all the characters are stuck in the tree, what do you think they are saying to each other? What would you say if you were stuck in a tree? Draw some of the characters (e.g. firemen, orang-utan, rhino, duck, cat, whale) and write what you think they are saying in speech bubbles. Use some question marks and exclamation marks.
Making equal groups by sharing.
Choose a task card. Using counters (or anything else you can find!) create the equal groups by sharing them between the plates (print them off or draw your own). Write 'There are _ altogether. There are _ in each group. There are _ groups'. Repeat with other task cards - sharing between 2, 5 and 10.
An example has been done for you.
