Week 1 - 4th November 2020

Homework - Week 1 - 4th November 2020

English/Topic work:

This week we will be starting a new topic called Exploring Madagascar. Can you use the internet and research some interesting facts about it? You can create a poster or a leaflet. You could even use some computing skills and create a pic collage if you are allowed to! You can send your work in via emails on jaguars@parkgate.cheshire.sch.uk

Here is a list of some of the things you could write about:

1. Landscapes

2. Climate and weather

3. Animals of Madagascar

4. Imports and exports.

30 Dojo Challenge - Can you describe using geographical language how you can get from the UK to Madagascar? Think about if you were flying what countries would you go past, which direction would you take?

Reading:

You must read at least 5 times in the week to build up your fluency of reading, increase your vocabulary and build your comprehension skills. In Jaguar class we change our books every Thursday so please bring in your books so that you can be listened to and you can change your book. You must keep your book at home for a week and then bring it into school on a Thursday. I understand some children read their books quite quickly however if you read stories over again you build on your fluency and understanding even further. You should be able to recap the story easily.

Spellings:

This week, I'd like you to recap the A and B words for our assessment on Monday 9th November 2020.

You may know these spellings but you must be able to use them in a sentence and understand each word too. (These are the National Curriculum words for year 4)
